General Finishes water-based Pre-Cat Lacquer wood finish uses new technology in the polymer manufacturing process. This novel formula produces a smaller and smoother polymer particle, which translates into a big increase in film clarity. In addition, the chemical, water and yellowing resistance are superior to competitors, waterborne or solvent.
Enduro Clear Poly is a high-performing commercial-grade water-based topcoat fortified with polyurethane that delivers a tough, durable and abrasion-resistant finish. Clear Poly can be used on any project where more solids (28%) and durability are desired.
Conversion Varnish is a two-component, post-catalyzed urethane topcoat for use when ultimate durability is necessary. Use this wood finish for high-use projects that receive a lot of wear, such as bars, commercial tabletops, bathroom vanities, around dishwashers, kitchen cupboards or high-moisture areas.
Enduro Pigmented Poly is a high-solids, pigmented water-based wood finish ideal for cabinets and millwork. Stocked in Black and White, custom colors are available for wholesale customers upon request. White and Clear can be used as tint bases to achieve endless colors. Created for non-architectural use, it can be used with General Finishes Glaze Effects.

General Finishes White Undercoat is similar to General Finishes Sanding Sealer with the addition of white colorant to provide a primer undercoat for white/off-white wood finishes. The high solids facilitate a fast film build and sand easily. Use as a basecoat for pigmented acrylic finishes. It dries tack-free in 10-20 minutes. Particularly effective on MDF.
Stain Blocker is General Finishes’s revolutionary water-based white primer for interior projects. Stain Blocker can be used to protect pigmented finishes from stain, dye and wood tannin bleed-through. Use over an existing finish, raw wood or MDF as a base coat for light colored General Finishes Milk Paint, Chalk Style Paint and Pigmented Polys.
General Finishes Stain Blocker is designed for effectiveness, not price point. A successful primer requires a sophisticated resin system and an atypical formulation. Use on pieces where you are concerned about bleed-through.
Winner of Fine Woodworking’s “Best Overall Choice Award,” High Performance Topcoat was voted as the hardest, most durable consumer polyurethane topcoat.
Flat Out Flat is a self-crosslinking water-based topcoat that mimics the lustrous look and feel of wax. The increased matting agents used to create “flat look” cause this wood finish to have less clarity, show fingerprints more and provide slightly less durability than High Performance. It is recommended for low-use projects other than kitchen cabinets and table tops.
Enduro-Var wood finish is a self-crosslinking, oil-modified, water-based polyurethane that looks more like an oil varnish than a water coating. It ambers slightly, is highly water resistant, and is both sprayable and brushable. Enduro-Var water-based topcoat adheres well ONLY over WATER STAINS, DYE STAINS and RAW WOOD. Use Enduro-Var over any other surfaces at your own risk.
Wood Turner’s Finish is a water-oil urethane hybrid for use on wood turnings, salad bowls and other lathe-turned projects. This water-based wood finish produces a slight amber tone and dries to recoat in minutes.
General Finishes Water Based Wood Stains are formulated to provide workability similar to oil-based stains. They spread easily, can be repaired, blend effortlessly and have plenty of open time. The thicker formula of these wood stains allows for controlled penetration, and their high-quality pigments produce rich, dark, uniform colors on hard-to-stain woods like maple and pine. Low odor, low VOC, water cleanup and noncombustible.
