MEODED Quartz Primer for Plasters

MEODED Quartz Primer for Plaster is a high-performance bonding primer designed to improve adhesion on smooth or low-porosity plaster surfaces. Formulated with fine quartz aggregate, it creates a textured base that helps decorative plasters and finishes grip securely and apply evenly. Ideal for interior and exterior applications, it promotes uniform coverage, enhances durability, and ensures a long-lasting, professional result.
  • Application

    Step 1: Prepare the Surface

All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of wax, grease, oil, dirt, dust, chalk, mildew, and any loose or peeling paint. Proper surface preparation ensures maximum adhesion and long-term performance.

    Step 2: Prime the Surface

For new interior surfaces, apply a PVA primer and allow it to dry completely. On glossy existing surfaces, lightly sand, remove dust, and apply a water-based multi-purpose primer before using Quartz Primer. Flat, non-glossy surfaces can typically receive Quartz Primer directly. If the surface is highly absorbent or previously plastered, dilute the Quartz Primer with up to 25% water before application.

Step 3: Exterior Stucco (Brown Coat) Applications

For exterior brown coat or stucco surfaces, pressure wash thoroughly and allow the surface to dry. Apply Quartz Primer diluted with up to 25% water and let it dry for 3–5 hours. Follow with three thin coats of Meoded plaster to achieve a smooth, even finish.

Step 4: Apply Under Proper Conditions

Quartz Primer can be applied by brush, roller, or sprayer. Apply only when surface and air temperatures are between 50°F and 95°F. Avoid high humidity and do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. When applying over oil-based paint, use a universal primer before applying Quartz Primer.
